With Sympathy

I made this card today for friends whose brother passed away very unexpectedly yesterday. I used the Autumn Leaf from the Gina K Designs "Fall Foliage" collection and the With Sympathy from the Gina K Designs "Stippled Flowers" collection.
The Autumn leaf was stamped on an autumn background which I made myself, and then heat embossed about 4 times.
The color of Not Quite Navy is what was used to stamp the With Sympathy on the front of the card. I also used Mellow Moss as the card base, layered with Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron all SU card.
Not much more to say except wish I could take better pictures.

Just a picture of the inside of the card before being written in. Thumped the leaf stamp and applied Pumpkin Pie and Kiwi Kiss ink around the edge.

Just playing around

Created this card using SU ~ Ruby Red, Old Olive and Whisper White. The panel in the middle was made using the Marble techniques and is quite fetching in real life. And although you can't really see it, I double stamped the flower using Pretty in Pink and Basic Black. The inside is also decorated using the flower, double stamped and a greeting.

Sunday is nearly over and I am still feeling very unwell. Hope you all have a great weekend

Sympathy card

I work as part of a great team at what could be a very explosive site, so when one of the members if feeling pain something as small as a card can help them cope.
Such a thing recently happened to one of the team with the passing of her mother. The loss of a parent is very hard to bear as is the loss of any family member.

Not much more to say, so have a great weekend.

Experimenting

Boy, has this been a long time coming. Although I rearranged my craft room into my lounge room ages ago, I have not been taking advantage of it to the full. You know the routine: away from home over 14 hours a day/night, no time for anything but eating, showering and sleeping.
Well, what better excuse to create that having bronchitis, losing one's voice and now this turning into a cold.
So, I have been experimenting with various techniques that I have learned from viewing the fantastic Stamp TV site. I thank the brilliant Gina Krupsky for producing such a wonderful range of videos for us.
These first two cards are made with the Pillow Top background. The first card was my first effort that didn't turn out as I expected because I didn't have the proper tools, but still it looks different. I decided to try again and made this "male" card which needs sentiment added etc.

Anyway, appreciate you taking the time to stop by and have a look.
As always, have a great day and enjoy creating :)

So looking forward to the Scrapbooking Retreat at Pt Elliot. Lots of creating to be done, friends to catch up with, food to eat, rest and relaxation.

Work, work, work

Sorry I haven't posted anything of late. I have just started a new job (and loving it) working 12 hours shifts most days, so that doesn't leave much time for creating.
Hopefully I will have something for you soon.
Until then, Happy stampin :)

Wedding Day

Made to coordinate with the post below, this one is of Mum with her bridesmaids. I know that the one on the left is my Aunty but not sure of the one on the right. Would love to have had color photos but you can't have everything.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and have a look. I love to receive your comments, so please feel free to leave one on any post.
Have a great weekend :)

Mum on her wedding day

What can I say that I haven't already said! Mum was 23 when she married Dad. In fact, it was Mum that did the proposing and apparently my Dad's friends sent her a sympathy card when they heard. LOL.
Once again, very simple but I think effective. Pity I could not take the shine out of the bottom of the photo though.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Please feel free to comment.
Have a great day, everyone :)

Now for some scrapbooking

The wonderful couple in this wedding photo are my parents. Mum and Dad were married on the 24th January, 1959. Mum's dress was white with a silver pattern running through it. Unfortunately this does not show up very well on the photo. I don't have many details (as I wasn't there) but it would have been a glorious sunshiny day.
I know it is very plain but sometimes that is best. The heart in the background was cut from and 12" Big Shot from my local Scrapbooking Shop ~ Memories on the Murray. Flowers are from their extensive selection also but the black flowers are actually punches.
I have some more photos coming up in the next few days so please come by and take a look.
I love to receive comments so please leave one if you feel inclined to do so.
Thanks for looking and have a nice day where ever you may be :)

Another Zindorfian

I absolutely loved this card when I saw Michelle's tutorial of it, so I set about making it, and have made many of these as my friends have fallen in love with it. Michelle's tutorial can be found here.
Stamps used is Inspired by Nature.
Cardstock ~ Apricot Appeal, Really Rust, Basic Black and Whisper White.
Ink ~ Basic Black, Really Rust, Bravo Burgundy and Apricot Appeal.
The two step Bird Punch was also used.
Because I do not have the Top Note Die or the Big Shot Machine, I cut out the front section on my Cricut Expressions machine.
The photo just doesn't do it justice. But I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by :)

This is my take on another one of Michelle Zindorf's beautiful creations. I must say that I am learning alot from Michelle, she is a very talented lady.
A card that can be made for any occasion :)
